Location: Life Time Fitness - Vernon Hills (Treadmill)

 

After doing some math, I've determined that the only way I can be on (or ahead of) pace by New Year's Day is to run 4 times in the next 4 days. It's a tall order, but I think I'm up for it! Tonight was a good start. After work, I racked up 7 miles on the treadmill, bringing my grand total to 821.90.  I'm still 5.5 miles behind m target pace of 827.40, but I'm definitely heading in the right direction. One down, three to go!

After a day of home-office organizing / cleaning, I worked in another 7.44 miles on the treadmill, bringing my grand total to 829.34.  With my target pace at 830.14, I'm actually almost where I need to be already!  However, since I'll be traveling on New Year's Eve and Day, I need to build up some cushion to make sure I stay ahead of target.  I was definitely NOT motivated to run tonight, so let's see how I do tomorrow... I THINK I CAN, I THINK I CAN, I THINK I CAN...

The secret to today's run was a much needed NAP this afternoon. Yep... that's exactly what I needed!  After my little afternoon respit, I dragged myself to the gym and racked up another 7.35 miles, bringing my total to 836.69 miles.  WIth a pace target of 832.88, I have officially put myself back in POSITIVE territory! Yeah!!! If I can work in one more run tomorrow morning before heading up to Green Lake, WI for New Year's, I will guarantee that I will still be in positive territory on New Year's Day.  I'm not sure if I can squeeze in the run, but I will certainly TRY!

YES! I worked in another 7.28 miles this morning before heading out of town, which brings my year end total to 843.97 miles!  My target pace for 12/31/2013 (tomorrow night) is 835.62.  So I am actually 7 miles ahead for the year, and I'll still be ahead of pace when I get back on the treadmill Friday night (1/3). I am so thrilled to start the new year right! I have two months left in my journey, and I am more confident than ever that I will make my miles! Now I just need to raise the money. Time to get serious about the fundraising!!!
