Location: Life Time Fitness - Vernon Hills (Treadmill)
Back to the bitter cold of Chicago, which means I'm running on a treadmill again. After a beautiful week in sunny Mexico, I'm right back in the swing of things at the gym. Aside from the climate-shock, the only real issue coming back is my Suunto watch apparently calibrated my pace according to the pace I ran outdoors in Mexico - which wasn't nearly as fast as I have been running on the treadmill (and on the forest path when I was previously logging real outdoor miles). This means the watch thinks I only ran 6.87 miles, while the treadmill said I ran more like 7.25 miles. Hopefully this will adjust itself over time. I'm sticking with the watch as the 'official mileage keeper', so 6.87 miles gives me a total of 779.82 miles while my target is 791.78. I still have a lot of work to do to get back in front of the curve!

Hmmm... another day on the treadmill, and another mis-match on what my watch thinks I ran compared to the treadmill. The watch says I ran 7.01 miles, while the treadmil says I ran closer to 7.5 miles. I'm sticking with the watch, but I fear that it won't calibrate properly until I get a few more runs in the great outdoors. Given that it's less than 20 degrees outside right now, I don't think that will happen any time soon. I just have to suck it up, I guess! Today's miles give me a total of 786.83 with a target pace of 794.52. I'm getting closer!
