Location: Life Time Fitness Vernon Hills (Treadmill)

 

I tell you what... sometimes this 1,000 mile journey can be pretty discouraging.  As I feared, I was not able to work in any runs during my travels last week, which means I'm falling behind again.  With today's 7.08 miles, my total is at 642.70, while my pace goal is now at 657.53.  I'm back to about 15 miles behind target.  Oh well, there's nothing  can do except jump back on the treadmill and push myself to get back on pace.  Wish me luck!

OK... two days in a row is a good thing.  I had another good run and was able to add another 7.23 miles to my journey, bringing me to a total of 649.93.  My target pace is 660.27, so I'm narrowing the gap somewhat.  I have to say that while I slipped behind a little on miles, it did help my body recover a bit.  My shin pain is more or less gone at this point, but I've traded it for a strained quadricep.  It's not nearly as bad as the shin was, but it certainly gives me something to complain about!

Three days in a row is certainly what I need to chip away at my deficit!  I logged another 7.15 miles on the treadmill today, bringing my total to 657.08.  My target pace is 663.01, so I back to within 6 miles!  Of course, I don't think I'll be able to run for the next couple days or so, but at least I'm heading in the right direction for now.  Onward!
