Location: Half Day Forest Preserve, IL (Outdoor)

 

It's days like this that I feel truly blessed to have my health and the means to run in such a stunning setting!  What a gorgeous day!  It was 70 degrees and sunny, and I savored the sights, sounds, and serenity of the Half Day Forest Preserve every step of the way.  What more can I say?

Location: Life Time Fitness Vernon Hills (Treadmill)

 

The days are getting shorter, which means it's getting harder and harder to get out of work early enough to run in the Forest Preserve.  That means I'm back to the treadmill to rack up my miles.  Tonight I logged 7.28 miles, and felt pretty good doing it!

OOH... AHHH... EEEEE... OWWW!  I haven't been as diligent about the icing and anti-inflammatories lately, and I think I'm paying for it.  I was able to rack up another 7 miles on the treadmill, but I certainly felt it every step of the way.  I'll get back on the program right quick so I don't end up sidelined again!

Joe was traveling tonight, so I worked in another run on the treadmill instead of doing my usual strength training.  While my final pace doesn't show it, the truth is I had a pretty good run tonight.  I forgot to stop the meter, so my pace included 'cool down' time on the treadmill, which I normally don't count.  That's OK... I logged another 7.28 miles, bringing my total to 555.88 miles.  My target mileage at this point is 575.34, which means I've closed the gap to 20 miles!  Considering I was 50 miles behind pace just a few weeks ago, I'm thrilled with my progress!  I hope to be back ahead of the game within the next few weeks.  I can't wait!
