Back in business!  I had a good run in the forest preserve and can't wait to do it again!  Let's start racking up the miles!

I thought last week was about as hot as it gets... and then I ran today.  OMG... I thought I was going to pass out!  It's supposed to cool off this week, so hopefully Wednesday will be better. 

 

As it stands, I'm up to 484.70 miles.  To be on pace for 1,000 miles in one year, I should be at 528.77 by now.  I'm still 44 miles behind... but I WILL get back on track!  Ice and stretching is the trick!  I can do this!!!

It rained today, which fortunately cooled things off a bit.  I ran the trail again, but this time I went South instead of North.  It was scenic, but had a few more 'urban barriers' than I would like... meaning I had to wait for lights at cross-walks and ran through a neighborhood or two.  North-bound is pure, pristine forest preserve, with an underpass at the only place you actually encounter civilization. 

 

On another note, my shin pain was 'about average' meaning it was noticeable but tolerable.  I can deal with that!  I'll keep stretching and icing!
